From Farmer to Bio-Control Entrepreneur

INTRODUCTION :
Shri Puran Ram Godhara, son of Shri Khet Pal Godhara and a resident of Village Pillibanga, District Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, has successfully transformed himself from a progressive farmer into a promising agri-entrepreneur. Driven by his interest in sustainable agriculture and environmentally friendly crop protection technologies, he sought to establish a venture focused on bio-control solutions for farmers.
TRAINING :
In 2021, Shri Godhara participated in the 30-day Entrepreneur Development Programme (EDP) organized by the Agri-Business Incubation (ABI) Centre, ICAR–CAZRI, Jodhpur. He received intensive hands-on training in the production and commercialization of bio-control agents. The training equipped him with practical knowledge and technical skills in microbial culture handling, laboratory operations, quality control procedures, and commercial production techniques, with special emphasis on Trichoderma harzianum 1% WP (CFU 2 × 10⁶ g⁻¹), an effective bio-control agent used for managing soil-borne plant diseases.
ACHIEVEMENTS :
Today, Bhavishya Agro Biotech Enterprises serves more than 400 farmers across Hanumangarh district and adjoining areas. Through the supply and promotion of bio-control agent Shri Puran Ram Godhara’s success demonstrates the potential of bio-control-based enterprises in promoting sustainable agriculture and improving farmers’ livelihoods. Through his enterprise, over 400 farmers have gained access to quality bio-control products, encouraging reduced chemical pesticide use and adoption of eco-friendly farming practices. His journey serves as an inspiration for farmers and rural youth to pursue agri-entrepreneurship based on scientific technologies. His entrepreneurial success demonstrates how scientific training, innovation, and institutional support can create viable rural enterprises that simultaneously generate income and address agricultural challenges.

RECOGNITION :
In recognition of his contributions towards natural farming and sustainable agriculture, Shri Puran Ram Godhara was honored by the District Collector during the District-Level Prakritik Krishi Kisan Mela held on 15 March 2023. The award acknowledged his efforts in promoting bio-control technologies and supporting farmers in adopting eco-friendly crop management practices.
