Institute Technology Management Unit–Agri-Business Incubation Centre (ITMU-ABIC), ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute (ICAR-CAZRI), Jodhpur. Since its establishment in 2019, has been committed to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, intellectual property management, technology commercialization, and value addition in arid agriculture through skill development, startup incubation, and technology transfer initiatives.
The ITMU-ABIC has successfully trained more than 400 rural youth, women, startups, and aspiring entrepreneurs from Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and several other states across India. Through various Skill Development Programmes (SDPs), Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs), and technology orientation initiatives, the Centre has empowered participants to establish sustainable agri-based enterprises and enhance livelihood opportunities in arid and semi-arid regions.
The Centre’s major focus areas include millet value addition, protected cultivation of vegetables, nursery establishment and commercial fruit plant production, Khejri- and agroforestry-based enterprises, sheep and goat farming, indigenous dairy farming, cattle feed and feed supplements, organic farming, mushroom cultivation, solar drying technologies, and market linkage development. The ITMU-ABIC also facilitates intellectual property management, technology transfer, industry partnerships, prototype development, and commercialization of research outputs generated by the institute. Through its training, incubation, and technology commercialization activities, the Centre has generated revenue of ₹16.22 lakh while contributing significantly to employment generation and entrepreneurship development in the arid regions of the country.
